The Melissa Barn at H.D. Ranch, is a super cute and super rustic wedding venue can used for all kinds of weddings.
The Melissa Barn property is owned by Darrell and Heather, growing up Darrell had a passion for horses and dreamt of owning a horse farm someday which is what this was up until 2013 a fully functioning horse farm. The location was renovated to accommodate weddings in 2013 and also had a massive redo in 2020 with all the wood inside being replaced by reclaimed barn wood and some of it is over 100 years old.
The Melissa Barn at H.D. Ranch sits on 6.5 acres of land, it has onsite lodging that can sleep 16 guests and includes all of the fun things you’d need to relax on your wedding day. It also has multiple points of entry and a paved parking lot that can accommodate 80 vehicles. The barn its self can hold 130 guests, the barn only holds one wedding a day so its not a multiple weddings a day kind of place so you know that you are getting the upmost attention to your special day. The Melissa barn was also rated in the top 10 barns for the knot for Dallas and surrounding areas. The venue make’s it super easy to book and see if its available on your wedding day all online here.
There are plenty of photo locations from the walking path to the garden to the indoor warm woods, to the old Chevy truck that Darrell has that is always there all make for amazing photos and amazing opportunity’s around every corner.
The actual wedding venue is a very warm and inviting location, based on its natural woods and earthy tones that are present in the reclaimed wood, used through out the location.
The Melissa Barn is probably one of my favorite hidden gems of North Texas wedding venues, plus it is super close to me.
